For the third consecutive year, Positive Technologies has been ranked a Tier 1 signaling firewall provider in the annual ROCCO Signalling Firewall Vendor Performance Report for 2021.
Our PT Telecom Attack Discovery next-generation signaling platform took some of the top marks among products from 27 vendors, receiving an overall rating of 4.54 out of 5. Evaluations were provided by 97 mobile network operators across 88 countries.
Positive Technologies also leads the report’s General Rating, which ranks vendors based on overall perception among operators. We are honored to be awarded first place, as our mission is to be the trusted telecom cybersecurity advisor and share our best practices and knowledge with mobile network operators globally.
Our product functionality, as well as top-notch team expertise, were highlighted. As one mobile operator stated, «The feature set of TAD is exceptionally rich, plus the Positive Technologies team are real experts with a telecom security focus. That’s why I feel collaborating with Positive Technologies was a great decision.»
Apart from vendor performance, the ROCCO report covers industry key trends and market challenges. One key insight is that SS7 attacks still pose a major threat to MNO security. According to our research, SS7 vulnerabilities can make legacy networks an open book and enable malefactors to track subscriber geolocation, listen in on calls, intercept SMS messages, commit fraud, and even perform denial of service. That is why when choosing vendors and solutions, MNOs name protection from SS7 attacks as one of their most important criteria.
